Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking stock of various construction programmes in Kedarnath.(Facebook picture)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (18 May) offered prayers to one of his favourite deities, Baba Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, as part of his trip to the two shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Clad in the traditional attire of the state, Modi took stock of the development of the ongoing Kedarnath development projects. The shrine was devastated by the flash floods of 2013. The PMO, since Modi assumed the office, is overlooking the redevelopment projects in the region.
Modi, through his twitter handle, has shared a video of him reviewing the status of a project near the shrine. Watch the video below:
Soon after campaign window for the last phase of Lok Sabha election was over, Modi rushed to his favourite shrine. Last year, the prime minister had witnessed both the annual opening and closing ceremonies of the temple.. Modi is scheduled to visit the Badrinath shrine tomorrow as well.
