Karnataka Public Works Minister H D Revanna who is the brother of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was caught sleeping inside the state assembly while trust vote discussions were underway.
The trust vote discussions which began at 11 AM today (18 July) have continued to drag on, prompting a BJP delegation to meet the state Governor Vajubhai Vala.
The BJP alleges that while today was fixed for vote of confidence, the Congress leaders attempted a delaying tactic by moving point of orders. The party has thus requested Governor Vala to direct the speaker to hold the trust vote.
As things stand, the Congress-JD(S) coalition government does not have the required numbers to win the trust vote on the floor of the state assembly and the BJP has the support of enough MLAs to form a new government.
