BKU Leader Rakesh Tikait (Pic Via Twitter)
A stage today (3 February) collapsed in Haryana's Jind while farmer leaders like Rakesh Tikait were standing atop it during a Mahapanchayat. A video of the incident was shared by ANI.
The video captures the exact moment of the stage collapsing as it focused on Tikait and other farm leaders.
A collapsing stage though is expected to be the least of Tikait's problems as the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) has been named in an FIR over the violence that broke out in various parts of the national capital during the farmers' tractor rally.
Additionally, in a viral video Tikait can be heard as telling the protesting farmers that the government is playing hardball (“zyada kaidi pad rahi hai sarkar”) and the farmers need to be armed with sticks (“lathi-danda”) in the rally.
