A shocking video of Tamil Nadu's Minister for Fisheries Anitha R Radhakrishnan has gone viral on social media. In the video, the minister can be seen being carried by a fisherman to the shore as he reportedly did not want to get his white shoes soaked up in water.
As per the reports, the incident occurred during Radhakrishnan's visit to Palaverkadu to inspect effects of sea erosion in the area.
After the said inspection, when the boat he was on arrived near the shoreline, he realised that he did not need to get his white sports shoes moist. Thus, he let a fisherman carry him to the shore, after which his supporters huddled around him for further support.
The video was widely shared on the social media and drew widespread condemnation from the netizens. They slammed the 68-year-old leader for his "VVIP" attitude.
One user wrote, "He is a fisheries minister...Give him a mermaid suit for god's sake!! He doesn't have to get his shoes wet."
Another remarked, "Old days: I want to join politics for the betterment of people and my nation
Present day: I want join politics for the betterment of Me, Myself & Me.
Everyone of them is corrupt with either money, power, positions, entitlements, fame, pleasure or something else."
One user quipped, "He is a Fisheries Minister not water Ok. He don't want conflict of interest."
