Protesters in Kolkata gathered outside the Chinese Consul General's office on Friday (19 June) to protest against China and Xi Jinping, while also raising a pitch to boycott Chinese products.
In the video shared by India Today journalist Indrajit, the protesters can be seen pelting the picture of Xi Jinping with slippers while others present at the scene raise anti-China slogans.
Beside getting hit with slippers, Xi Jinping's picture was also slapped multiple times by one of the protesters. The angry protesters then proceeded to set the effigy ablaze while chanting slogans like Xi Jinping Murdabad, Communists Murdabad, Chi Chi China.
The protesters also raised Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogans and hailed the Indian Army.
It was recently reported that Indians from all walks of life are coming together to protest against China and boycott Chinese and China made products.
