The Indian Commercial Pilots Association has come forward to express solidarity with the Indian government in its fight against terrorism as border tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, reports ANI.

ICPA has a strength of over than 600 members.

“We as Air Indians take pride and feel duty bound towards national interest and pledge our support to the nation and as pilots, we consider ourselves as the second line of defence after the armed forces to serve our country,” the letter added.

Jet Airways Pilots Call Off Strike Too

Jet Airways pilots have also called off their 1 March (2019) strike to protest against non-payment of salaries on account of heightened national security concerns.

“Everything, however, needs to be done at the appropriate time. The country is in a state of high alert following the events across the border. At a time like this, we need to stand united with the rest of the country. Right now, we all have to ask ourselves if it is indeed the right time to fight for our rights when everyone else is fighting for the country," said Jet Airways' pilot union National Aviators Guild (NAG).
