Woman From Bhopal Given Triple Talaq By Husband On WhatsApp, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Promises Justice

A woman from Madhya Pradesh (MP)'s capital Bhopal lodged an FIR on Friday (21 August) accusing her husband of divorcing her by uttering talaq thrice through WhatsApp, reports Hindustan Times.
With triple talaq practice having been banned in the nation last year through a new law, Chief Minister (CM) Shivraj Singh Chouhan took note of the woman's grievance and assured her of justice.
The 42-years-old woman works as a manager in a hotel in Bengaluru and has two children. She had been married to one Faiz Alam Ansari since October 2001, and the couple has been living in Bengaluru since 2013. As per the aggrieved woman, she was regularly harassed by Ansari, who allegedly also exerted pressure on her to give Rs 25 lakh in dowry.
As per the complaint, Ansari had asked the victim to leave the house and return only when she would have Rs 25 lakh with her. Following this, she returned to her parent's house in June. Later on 31 July, during a WhatsApp call, her husband uttered talaq three times.
The police has lodged an FIR under the stringent Dowry Prohibition Act and Muslim Women (Protection of Rights of Marriage) Act and a team of police personnel is set to go to Bengaluru to carry out the investigation in the matter.
