Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has instructed his bureaucrats to stop all payments for projects which were commissioned by the erstwhile chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in the last 6 months, Mumbai Mirror has reported.

This embargo on payments would continue till the new Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi coalition decides to clear them. The report also claimed that funds would only be released for those projects which are fully completed.

The new Thackeray led government has already announced its decision to review critical infra projects in the state which include - the coastal road, Versova-Bandra sea link, Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi corridor, third bridge over Thane creek and the bullet train.

The state government has justified this review by claiming that it wishes to ensure complete transparency was maintained in the project allocation process. The Aarey shed required the Mumbai Metro-3 project has already been halted by the Uddhav Thackeray led government.
