Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officers to ensure that the making of ration cards for migrant workers is done on war footing.
The ration cards will be instrumental in providing help to the the returnee migrant workers in Uttar Pradesh and in meeting their food needs, he said.
Adityanath has said that the administration must ensure that back accounts of the migrant workers are running and active. He said that the smooth functioning of their back accounts must be ensured for the receiving of benefits from the government.
He added that in case some of the migrant workers have lost access to their bank accounts, the concerned bank branches must be contacted to push the accounts into activation once again.
The Yogi government had recently completed the skill mapping of 14.75 lakh migrant workers who have returned to the state during lockdown. This will help in providing employment for them.
