Yogi Adityanath, Rajnath Singh Face Sloganeering At Lucknow ‘Yuva Kumbh’ Demanding Construction of Ram Temple

Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s address to an audience at the Yuva Kumbh event in Lucknow was disrupted by loud sloganeering from the crowd demanding the construction of a Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya, reports The Economic Times.
Singh tried to assuage the crowd by telling them that the temple will be constructed, but to no avail, as the crowd kept on shouting the slogan, “Jo Mandir Banwayega, Usi Ko Vote Jayega (Whoever constructs the Ram temple will receiver our vote).”
The commotion went on for several minutes, with the organisers of the function stepping in to control the crowd.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s speech at the same function had also been delayed by similar sloganeering demand the temple’s construction. Adityanath attempted to pacify the audience by stating, “Some people here were speaking about Ram Janmabhoomi. Friends, whosoever does this job or whenever this job is done, this job will be done by us, no one else will be able to do so."
The incident comes at the back of the BJP facing defeats in three state elections, where it was in direct contest with the Congress. With 2019 elections less than six months away, Ram Temple has become a hot topic in Indian political sphere.
