AR Rahman
A day after fans voiced their anger and disappointment at the poor crowd management during AR Rahman's concert at Adityaram palace city in Chennai's outskirts, a police officer in charge of the region has been transferred, reported India Today.
The action comes a day after the Tambaram police launched an enquiry into the issue.
A number of women alleged that they were groped and molested in the stampede like situation that was a result of overbooking and poor crowd management.
The transfer order states that the officer, Deepa Sathyan, has been put on compulsory waiting. Two other officers have also been transferred.
Rahman has been criticised for not giving a proper apology after the incident. His Instagram post in which he stated, "Some people call me G.O.A.T …………let me be the sacrificial goat this time for all of us to wake up..." is being seen as insensitive.
