In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and 'Operation Sindoor', India's military response to it, the Central government is gearing up to launch a major diplomatic campaign to take its message to the global stage, the Indian Express reported.

As part of this effort, all-party parliamentary delegations will be sent to key countries, beginning with nations in Europe and the Gulf, IE reported citing sources.

The initiative aims to present a unified national front and highlight how India, as a victim of Pakistan-backed terrorism, has responded decisively.

The delegations will include MPs from various parties, primarily drawn from parliamentary standing committees, to convey that the country stands together in the face of terror.

The Ministry of External Affairs is coordinating with the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats to compile a list of MPs for these delegations.

The effort will also reinforce India's stance that it was provoked by the terror attack and responded with targeted strikes on nine terrorist sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has reportedly reached out to several opposition MPs, inviting them to join the delegations "in national interest."

Those contacted reportedly include Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Salman Khurshid, NCP(SP)’s Supriya Sule, TMC’s Sudip Bandyopadhyay, AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi, DMK’s Kanimozhi, and BJP’s B J Panda.

Khurshid, a former external affairs minister, confirmed to IE that he was contacted by the government on Thursday night (15 May).

The delegations are expected to brief foreign governments and media on the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and India’s broader diplomatic stance on terrorism emanating from across the border.
