Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed officials to fast-track land acquisition for the Beed–Parli railway line, stressing its importance for Marathwada’s social and economic growth.
He noted that once operational, the line would make direct travel from Parli (Beed district) to Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar district) possible and significantly improve regional connectivity.
On urban transport, he underlined the need to accelerate work on Pune Metro Line-3, linking Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi, while maintaining high quality standards.
He asked agencies to manage traffic carefully during the festive season, especially under bridges where metro construction is underway.
The review further covered the proposed Karjat–Bhimashankar–Khed–Shirur highway, with Pawar issuing directions to the Public Works Department to expedite progress.
Among other initiatives discussed were the planned Skywalk at Lonavala’s Tiger Point, divisional sub-centres of the ‘Sarathi’ organisation across key cities, Satara Medical College, Satara Sainik School, Purandar Airport, Mirkarwada Port in Ratnagiri, GST Bhawan at Wadala, Krishi Bhawan, Sahakar Bhawan, Kamgar Kalyan Bhawan, Olympic Bhawan and Museum, and new veterinary colleges in Pune, Parli and Baramati.
