The 49th meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) convened under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, at his residence in Undavalli on Friday (13 June), reported The New Indian Express.
Speaking to the media post-meeting, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister P Narayana announced that the APCRDA has cleared the tender process for key infrastructure development over 1,450 acres in the capital region, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,052 crore.
Further, in a move aimed at boosting regional connectivity, the Authority also greenlit works valued at Rs 682 crore to link the Seed Access Road with the National Highway.
These strategic upgrades are seen as key to Amaravati’s revival as a planned capital city.
While details remain under deliberation, officials indicated it signals a long-term commitment to environmentally conscious planning.
Narayana noted that a delegation led by him studied the construction of river bunds in Lucknow, and solid waste management in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh as part of best practices to be adopted in development of Amaravati.
Last month, the Andhra Pradesh government had accorded administrative sanction for the release of Rs 2,100 crore towards the Amaravati capital city development project for the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26.
