Another Train Derailment Attempt: After LPG Cylinder In Kanpur, Cement Blocks Found On Railway Track In Ajmer

After a 'train derailment attempt' in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, similar efforts were made in Rajasthan's Ajmer where two cement blocks weighing 70 kg each were placed on the rail track.

A goods train hit these blocks but fortunately, was able to continue its journey without any damage. Meanwhile, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR), India Today reported.

The case under the Railway Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act was lodged after the railway employees received information about the placement of a block on the track.

Earlier in Kanpur, a major accident was narrowly avoided late Sunday (8 September) night when the Prayagraj-Bhiwani Kalindi Express struck an LPG cylinder placed on the tracks.

Authorities have labeled the incident an "attempt to derail the train." The train was traveling at high speed when it hit the object, but the cylinder was dislodged upon impact, preventing a derailment.

The train's driver applied emergency brakes upon noticing the object, but the train made contact with the cylinder before coming to a stop. Fortunately, the impact caused the cylinder to roll away from the tracks.
