Andhra CM Naidu and former state CM Jagan Reddy
Lanka Dinkar, chairman of the Twenty-Point Programme, has made serious allegations against the previous YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh, accusing it of diverting central funds to welfare schemes named after Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Dinkar claimed that between 2019 and 2024, the funds allocated under various central government schemes were redirected towards these state-run programs, violating established guidelines.
In an interview with ANI, Dinkar claimed that a review conducted with District Collectors revealed that funds were disbursed without following the appropriate guidelines.
"During the YSRCP regime, funds from central government schemes were diverted to welfare programs named after the then Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy," he was quoted as saying in the ANI report.
The Chairman further accused the government of mismanaging MGNREGA funds, alleging that these funds had been used in violation of the programme's guidelines, which pointed to a larger issue of misgovernance.
In addition, Dinkar called for an explanation from the former chief minister regarding the alleged diversion of Rs 8,000 crore from Panchayat funds.
He criticised the lack of an effective system to track the utilisation of these funds during the previous government's tenure.
"We are conducting a thorough investigation and will present appropriate evidence to the public regarding the irregularities committed by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government," he stated.
