Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, Eklavya Schools And More: PM Modi To Launch Rs 83,300 Crore Tribal Welfare Projects Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jharkhand's Hazaribag today (2 October) to launch various projects worth over Rs 83,300 crore.

At around 2 PM, Modi will launch the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, a significant initiative with a total outlay exceeding Rs 79,150 crore.

This ambitious programme aims to transform the socio-economic landscape of around 63,000 villages, benefiting over 5 crore tribal residents across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 States and Union Territories.

The initiative focuses on attaining saturation of critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, livelihood, through 25 interventions implemented by 17 different ministries and departments of the Central government.

Additionally, PM Modi will unveil and lay the foundation stone for multiple projects under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), amounting to over Rs 1,360 crore.

This encompasses the construction of more than 1,380 km of roads, the establishment of 120 Anganwadis, 250 multi-purpose centres, and 10 school hostels.

The other projects set to be unveiled during PM Modi's visit include electrification of more than 75,800 households belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) across 3,000 villages, operationalisation of 275 Mobile medical units, operationalisation of 500 Anganwadi centres, establishment of 250 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras and saturation of more than 5,550 PVTG Villages with ‘Nal se Jal’.
