Israel Says Six Iranian Military Airports Hit in Retaliatory Strikes After Iran's Missile Attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday (23 June) that it had carried out precision airstrikes on six Iranian military airports across western, eastern, and central Iran.
The IDF claimed the strikes resulted in the destruction of 15 Iranian fighter jets and helicopters, including F-14, F-5, and AH-1 aircraft, according to India Today report.
“As part of the effort to deepen air superiority in Iranian skies, the IDF attacked six Iranian regime airports,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
It further added that runways and underground facilities were also significantly damaged.
Citing intelligence from the Military Intelligence Service, the IDF revealed that the Kermanshah area had been specifically targeted for housing surface-to-surface missile launch and storage sites aimed at Israel.
The announcement comes just a day after Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, in response to US-led strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities.
US President Donald Trump described the American action as hitting the “bullseye,” claiming “monumental damage” had been inflicted, especially “far below the ground level.”
Iran has strongly condemned the US-Israeli operations, warning of severe retaliation.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed that the enemies will face severe punishment, while President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that America must “receive a response.”
