Pune Porsche Crash Case Latest Update: Sassoon Hospital Doctors Arrested For Manipulating Minor Accused's Blood Reports

In an unending series of attempts of dodging the legal procedures, a fresh attempt has been thwarted by the Pune Police in the Porsche accident case.

The police commissioner has confirmed that Dr Ajay Taware, head of the forensics department, and Dr Shrihari Harnor, the chief medical officer, of the Sassoon General Hospital have been arrested for manipulating blood reports and tampering with evidence.

Earlier also for a similar attempt at obstruction of justice, an inspector and another officer from the Yerwada police station were suspended for delayed reporting and failing to take the teenager for a timely medical examination.

The teenager, initially granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board and instructed to write an essay on road accidents, was later sent to an observation home until 5 June after public outrage and a strong review application filed by the police.

The Agarwal family was accused of offering the driver any amount of money to take the blame.

Police have booked Vishal and Surendra Agarwal under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement).

The accident, which occurred in the early hours of 19 May, resulted in the deaths of two young IT professionals who were hit by a speeding Porsche Taycan allegedly driven by the minor under influence of alcohol.
