Rs 218 Crore Infra Projects Launched Across 26 Tamil Nadu Temples Under HR&CE, 33 Works Inaugurated

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday (18 June) laid the foundation stone for 49 new development projects across 26 temples under the administration of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) Department, The Hindu reported.

The combined value of these projects stands at Rs 217.98 crore.

The Chief Minister also formally inaugurated 33 completed works valued at Rs 21.5 crore.

These include 16 projects directly linked to temple-related works and 15 administrative and auxiliary structures across various districts.

Among the newly infrastructure projects are an Annadhanam hall, puja item sales centre, and vehicle parking facility at the Subramania Swami Temple in Tiruttani.

In Palani, an administrative building is slated for the Dhandayuthapani Swami Temple.

Other districts receiving infrastructure boosts include Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Tenkasi, and Krishnagiri, with works ranging from new rajagopurams and temple tanks to marriage halls, compound walls, and staff residences.

The projects already completed and inaugurated include renovated temple tanks, marriage halls, multipurpose buildings, Annadhanam halls, and upgraded administrative offices such as those of Assistant Commissioners, all aimed at improving facilities for devotees and enhancing day-to-day temple operations.
