After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was spotted with his Personal Assistant (PA) Bibhav Kumar, who is accused of assaulting Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, he also refused to respond on the matter.

In a press conference with Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday (16 May), when Kejriwal was asked about the matter, he refused to respond and Yadav responded on his behalf.

Yadav said, "There are other issues that are more important than this." Soon, Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh took the mic and questioned PM Narendra Modi on his silence on several issues.

He mentioned the Prajwal Revanna sex abuse case, the Manipur issue and the alleged assault by Delhi Police on protesting women wrestlers and then DCW chief Swati Maliwal and sought the PM's response on them.

Sanjay Singh had himself informed the media that while Swati Maliwal was waiting for Kejriwal in the drawing room of CM's residence, Bibhav Kumar came there and misbehaved with her.

"Arvind Kejriwal has taken cognizance of the incident and has directed for strict action. Swati Maliwal is one of the senior leaders and we stand with her. We don't support any offender," Singh had said on behalf of AAP.

The assault issue came to light when Swati Maliwal made two PCR calls to Delhi Police around 10 am on Monday from the CM’s residence. However, she has gone completely silent after that.
