AAP Requests Not To Send Summons Daily In Vain As Arvind Kejriwal Gets Eighth From ED in Delhi Liquor Policy Case

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal skipped seven summonses, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued him an eighth summons on Tuesday (27 February) in the liquor policy case, asking him to appear on 4 March.
Interestingly, former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren appeared before the ED in a land scam case after skipping seven summonses. He was then arrested after a second round of questioning on 31 January.
However, it remains unclear as of now whether Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) national convener Kejriwal will appear before the probe agency or not.
AAP said yesterday that the matter is in court and the next hearing is on 16 March, hence Kejriwal is not appearing before ED. The party asked the ED to wait for the court's decision and stop sending summons daily.
Last week, the central investigative agency filed a complaint against Kejriwal under section 174 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and said that he intentionally disobeyed the first three summons issued to him.
Earlier, Kejriwal appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court via videoconferencing. The matter was listed for 16 March after Kejriwal's counsel said that the Delhi CM would appear physically for the next hearing.
