Arvind Kejriwal Appears Before Delhi Court Virtually Over Skipping ED Summons, Cites Occupancy With Budget Session And Motion Of Confidence

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court today (17 February) via videoconferencing, citing his occupancy with the ongoing budget session and Motion of Confidence.

The court had summoned Kejriwal after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief skipped five summonses issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to the excise policy case. 

The matter has been now listed for 16 March as Kejriwal's counsel said that the Delhi CM will appear physically for the next hearing.

Kejriwal was issued a sixth summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday and has been asked to appear on 19 February.

Meanwhile, three other AAP leaders -- Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Satyendar Jain -- may also appear before the Rouse Avenue court today.

While Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are likely to appear physically in the excise policy case, Satyendar Jain, accused in a disproportionate assets case, may appear virtually.
