In a recent political development, the initial round of discussions between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding seat-sharing in Delhi for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections concluded without a formal announcement of the numbers.

However, both parties have expressed commitment to collaborating and stated that subsequent meetings will be held to finalise the seat-sharing formula.

As reported by The Times Of India, sources suggest that AAP has indicated a willingness to offer three out of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi to Congress.

In return, AAP is seeking accommodation on one Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, three in Haryana, and one in Goa.

Additionally, AAP is said to have proposed allocating six out of the 13 seats in Punjab to Congress.

This initial offer will likely undergo further discussions and revisions before reaching a final agreement.

The meeting also involved key leaders from both parties, including Mukul Wasnik, Congress' national alliance committee convenor, Ashok Gehlot, former Rajasthan CM, and AAP leaders Sandeep Pathak, Atishi, and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

While the specifics of the discussions were not disclosed, Wasnik stated that a final decision on seat-sharing would be reached in subsequent meetings.

The leaders also agreed to coordinate closely and establish a joint war room for strategic management once the seat-sharing terms are finalised.
