Adani Green Becomes First Indian Company To Cross 10,000 MW Renewable Energy Capacity

Adani Green Energy Ltd announced on Wednesday (3 April) the commissioning of 2,000 MW of solar capacity at the Khavda solar park in Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in India's renewable energy sector.
With this achievement, Adani Green Energy becomes the first company in India to surpass 10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity.
As reported by NDTV, the company's operational portfolio now stands at 10,934 MW, making it the largest renewable energy portfolio in India.
In the fiscal year 2023-24, Adani Green Energy added 2,848 MW of renewables capacity, further solidifying its position as a key player in the sector.
Of the total operational portfolio, Adani Green Energy's assets include 7,393 MW of solar capacity, 1,401 MW of wind capacity, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.
Looking ahead, the company has set ambitious targets, aiming to achieve 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Also, the 10,934 MW operational portfolio is expected to power over 5.8 million homes and contribute to avoiding approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Commenting on the milestone, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed pride in the company's achievements.
"In less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has not just envisioned a greener future but has actualised it, growing from a mere idea to explore clean energy to achieving a phenomenal 10,000 MW in installed capacity. This achievement is a demonstration of the rapidity and scale at which the Adani Group aims to facilitate India's transition to clean, reliable and affordable energy," he said.
