Adani Group Plans To Set Up New Policy Think Tank: All About It

The Gautam Adani-led Adani Group is preparing to establish a presence in the realm of policy formulation with the launch of a new think tank.
According to reports, the think tank, named Chintan Research Foundation, will focus on critical areas such as energy transition and climate change, economics and trade, and geopolitics and strategic affairs.
The foundation is expected to commence operations as early as May, with an initial funding of Rs 100 crore.
This strategic move positions the infrastructure conglomerate in direct competition with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), backed by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), which has gained prominence as one of India's leading think tanks since its inception in 1990.
Notably, ORF hosts The Raisina Dialogue, India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Chintan Research Foundation aims to establish itself as a globally respected research institution, independent of the Adani Group, with a governance structure designed to ensure its autonomy.
Screening and interviews are currently underway to select a chairperson, advisory board members, and research staff for the foundation, which will be headquartered in New Delhi, with plans for outposts in Washington and London.
Also, recently the Adani Group forged a partnership with The Science Museum in the UK, resulting in the creation of The Adani Green Energy Gallery.
Alongside its focus on green energy, the conglomerate has diverse interests spanning ports, cement, power, coal, and FMCG.
