Amid Ongoing Border Talks With China, Bhutan's King Wangchuck Initiates Eight-Day India Visit From 3 November

Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is set to commence an eight-day official visit to India starting on 3 November, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and reported by The Hindu.
This visit presents an invaluable opportunity for both nations to assess and enhance their multifaceted cooperation, further bolstering their exemplary partnership.
During his visit, King Wangchuck will engage in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing various aspects of the relationship between India and Bhutan.
Additionally, the King is expected to meet with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other senior government officials.
The MEA stated, "India and Bhutan enjoy unique ties of friendship and cooperation, which are characterised by understanding and mutual trust. The visit would provide an opportunity to both sides to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation and to further advance the exemplary bilateral partnership, across diverse sectors."
Notably, King Wangchuck's visit coincides with reports of ongoing discussions between China and Bhutan to resolve their boundary disputes.
This diplomatic visit holds significance in the backdrop of the 25th round of boundary talks between China and Bhutan, along with the signing of a cooperation agreement concerning the "Responsibilities and Functions of the Joint Technical Team on the Delimitation and Demarcation of the Bhutan-China Boundary."
During his visit to India, King Wangchuck will also travel to the Indian states of Assam and Maharashtra.
