Ayodhya Ram Mandir To Receive 1,100 Baskets Of Wedding Gifts From Sita's Birthplace In Nepal

In the days leading up to the inauguration of the Ram Temple on 22 January, a procession of 500 people, carrying 1,100 bhars (baskets) of items intended as wedding gifts for Lord Ram, will arrive in Ayodhya from Janakpur, Nepal, the birthplace of his bride Sita.
The procession is scheduled to commence from Janaki Mandir in Janakpur on 4 January and is anticipated to arrive in Ayodhya on 6 January, two days later.
The bhars will be filled with an abundance of wedding presents such as jewellery, gold and silver items, dry fruits, utensils, clothing, cosmetics, and large quantities of food grains like rice.
These items are traditionally offered to a bride as gifts when she marries and moves in with her husband.
Lalit Shah, a member of the committee named Janakpurdhamash Ayodhyadham Bhar Yatra, which is responsible for organizing the visit, informed The New Indian Express that they plan to bring offerings from Janakpur, Sita's hometown, to Ayodhya for Lord Rama on 6 January.
This is scheduled to take place before the consecration of the Ram Temple on 22 January.
The Ayodhya local authorities have prepared accommodations for 251 participants of the procession.
The organising committee is also making provisions to house the remaining participants at a variety of private establishments.
The distance between Janakpur and Ayodhya is 458 km.
Shah mentioned that their journey would commence from Janaki Mandir, proceeding to Jaleshwar, and eventually reaching Birganj for an overnight stay.
The procession, consisting of around 30 cars and five buses, will transport the gifts.
They plan to cross into India via Raxaul on 5 January, stopping for lunch at Betia, before continuing through Gorakpur and Bastipur to arrive in Ayodhya.
The delegation is scheduled to present the 1,100 bhars to the temple trustees at 8 am on 6 January.
