Ayodhya: Ram Mandir Trust To Rope In Language Experts To Assist Devotees From South India

In a bid to prepare for large number of visitors from Southern India after the Ayodhya Ram Temple opening, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust is assembling a team of language experts.
These experts will have the knowledge of Indian as well as foreign languages to answer questions from devotees coming to the Ram Mandir from across the country and abroad.
According to the Trust, a large number of tourists visit Ayodhya from across the country, especially Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
“The trust is also carrying out its own study to figure out which foreign tourists from which country are visiting Ayodhya. In accordance with the report, the Trust will rope in foreign language experts,” a member of the Trust was quoted as saying by The Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, to cater to the influx of Korean tourists in Ayodhya, the trust has already decided to hire a Korean language expert, given the historic relationship between Ayodhya and South Korea.
Legend has it that Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya travelled to Korea via sea route and married King Kim Suro and became Queen Heo Hwang-ok in 48 AD.
Many Koreans believe her to be their ancestor.
Two teams will be set up in Ayodhya - one by the Trust and the other by the city administration - to help those visiting the holy city.
The team set up by the administration will work as a tourist guide.
Currently, around 15,000 to 20,000 devotees visit Ayodhya everyday, with the figures expected to surge to over 1 lakh after Ram Mandir is opened for darshan in January 2024.
“Mostly devotees visiting Ayodhya from outside Uttar Pradesh are from South Indian states. So, experts in South Indian languages are mostly required,” Anil Mishra, a member of the Trust, was quoted as saying by HT.
The Trust is likely to rope in experts in Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Odia and Malayalam languages.
