BJP's Sudhanshu Trivedi Coins 'Hindutva Growth Rate' In Fiery Parliament Debate, Hits Back At Congress For 'Hindu Growth Rate' Ridicule

In a spirited debate on the state of India's national economy during the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, BJP's national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi attributed the country's robust GDP numbers to what he coined as the "Hindutva Growth Rate."
Drawing a stark comparison between the previous Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government and the current administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trivedi highlighted the remarkable progress witnessed under the latter's leadership.
Recalling the days of the Congress rule, Trivedi remarked, "Our country was made fun of back in those days, and it was said, in a jocular vein, that our economy couldn't grow beyond 2 per cent. It was ridiculed as the 'Hindu Growth Rate.'"
The BJP MP emphasised the significant departure from this era, asserting that under Prime Minister Modi, India has been reaching new economic heights.
"At 7.8 per cent, we now have the highest growth rate among all the major economies of the world," Trivedi proudly declared during his address to the Rajya Sabha, as reported by Economic Times.
Crediting Prime Minister Modi's leadership for the nation's economic strides, Trivedi highlighted the challenges faced by other major economies amid global uncertainties.
"There is a tsunami in the entire world economy in which big countries such as America and China are struggling, and those like Sri Lanka and Pakistan are battling to keep their heads above the water. However, even in the midst of this tsunami, the captain of our ship Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding us rock-steady and resilient and leading us forward," he asserted.
To reinforce his 'Hindutva growth' argument, Trivedi pointed to the upcoming 'pran prathistha' of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for next month. According to him, India's fastest growth rate coincides with this significant event.
As the Winter Session of Parliament unfolds, Trivedi's remarks have sparked discussions on the intersection of politics, religion, and economic growth, with various perspectives emerging on the interpretation of the term 'Hindutva Growth Rate.'
