Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a firm stand on the caste census during an election rally in Vallabhnagar, Udaipur, describing it as an 'X-ray of the country.
Emphasising the need to understand the demographic composition for effective participation, Gandhi pledged that if the Congress comes to power in Rajasthan, they will conduct a caste census in the state.
Furthermore, he assured that the Congress would extend this initiative to the national level if the party forms the government at the Centre.
In a critical remark aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi recalled the Prime Minister's earlier identification as an OBC and noted the shift in tone after the demand for a caste census arose.
He pointed out that while Prime Minister Modi claimed there is only one caste in the country — the poor — there is another caste of billionaires, mentioning Adani and Ambani as part of this distinct group.
Stating that the Prime Minister's role is to divert public attention, while individuals like Adani are engaged in financial manoeuvres, suggesting a collaborative relationship between them.
The Congress leader asserted that there is a specific caste for billionaires like Adani and Ambani, alluding to their economic influence.
