Haryana AAP Leader Booked For Instigating Mob Attack On Bajrang Dal Members
Javed Ahmed, a resident of Sohna and a leader of the Haryana AAP, accused of inciting violence during the communal clashes in Nuh.
A first information report (FIR) has been filed against Javed Ahmed, a resident of Sohna and a leader of the Haryana Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for inciting a mob to attack Pradeep Sharma, a member of Bajrang Dal, and his friends during the recent communal clashes in Nuh.
The FIR includes charges of murder, rioting, unlawful assembly under the Indian Penal Code, and sections of the Arms Act.
Tragically, Sharma suffered severe head injuries in the assault and later passed away in a hospital in Delhi.
Sushil Gupta, the AAP leader in charge of Haryana and a Rajya Sabha MP, strongly refuted the allegations against Javed Ahmed. He claimed that the accusations were false and aimed at tarnishing the reputation of both Ahmed and the party.
According to Gupta, Ahmed was allegedly not present in Sohna at the time of the incident. He stated that there exists a CCTV footage from the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, which proves that Ahmed was in Punhana, approximately 100 km away, during the incident.
The Delhi BJP president, Virendra Sachdeva, criticised both the AAP and the Congress for their silence regarding Javed Ahmed's alleged involvement in the violence.
Sachdeva pointed out that the silence appeared to be mutual, as the AAP has also remained silent about Congress leaders like Jagdish Tytler, who were involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
According to the details in the FIR, a group of 150 armed individuals, led by an AAP leader, attacked Sharma and his friends Pawan and Ganpat while they were travelling in a car near Javed Colony in Sohna at around 10.30pm on 31 July.
The complainant, Pawan, stated that the mob had weapons such as iron rods, stones, and firearms.
Javed instigated the mob to attack, and they targeted Pradeep, hitting him on the head with a rod, causing him to fall on the road. A police team arrived at the scene and rescued Pawan and Ganpat, but the mob continued to assault Pradeep.
He was eventually rescued and taken to Sohna Civil Hospital for treatment.
In the meantime, the Nuh administration has been carrying out a demolition drive against illegal constructions and properties suspected to be involved in the communal clashes.
On Sunday, the district administration demolished the Sahara Hotel, which was used by the rioters to throw stones and vehemently attack a procession organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on 31 July, which led to the eruption of communal clashes.
Over the past four days, a total of 162 permanent structures and 591 temporary structures have been demolished at 37 different locations, covering an area of 57.5 acres.
The curfew in Nuh was temporarily lifted for three hours on Sunday.
So far, 56 FIRs have been registered, and 147 individuals have been arrested in connection with the communal clashes in Nuh.
The riots have resulted in six deaths and 88 people were injured.
