The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has initiated protests across Haryana, demanding the arrest of the accused involved in the murder of Bittu Bajrangi's younger brother.
Bittu Bajrangi is a Bajrang Dal leader and his real name is Raj Kumar. He is a cow vigilant and made headlines when he was arrested after the 31 July Nuh violence.
Bittu's brother was attacked last month after attackers confirmed his relationship with the Bajrang Dal leader. The attackers poured petrol on him and set him on fire and fled in Haryana's Faridabad.
In response to the appeal made by VHP's central joint secretary Dr Surendra Jain and state president Pawan Kumar, all district units of VHP have submitted memoranda to the state government through officials, urging the arrest of the accused in the murder case and appealing for financial assistance to the family members.
The arrest of Bittu Bajrangi was also deemed unjust by VHP when he was arrested in connection with the Nuh violence. Since the Nuh disturbances, Bittu Bajrangi and his family members have been targeted, Jagran reported.
VHP leaders express anger over the fact that the accused in the murder of Mahesh Panchal, Bittu Bajrangi's brother, have not been arrested by the Faridabad district and police administration.
Six people are named in the FIR, but only one accused has been caught by the police so far. The remaining five accused are still at large.
VHP's state president, retired Justice Pavan Kumar, stated that VHP has been working for the protection of the country, religion, and culture for the past 64 years.
