In a recent revelation, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) disclosed that some of the country's leading industrialists and business houses approached them with offers to independently fund the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, reported The Times Of India.

This initiative followed the landmark Supreme Court ruling in November 2019 in favor of the Ram Janambhoomi.

VHP's national spokesperson, Vinod Bansal, stated that while the organisation appreciated the generous offers, they consciously declined and chose not to forward them to the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the body responsible for the temple's construction.

Instead, the VHP initiated the Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan, a massive campaign aiming to connect with over 13 crore families nationwide, raising funds for the temple.

Bansal did not disclose the names of the industrialists involved, emphasising that the VHP prioritized connecting people's sentiments with the longstanding Ram temple movement.

As the temple's inauguration approaches on 22 January, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the ceremony, the VHP is set to renew its outreach to devotees.

According to Bansal, the objective is to ensure that the Ram temple stands as a symbol of Indian culture, transcending its status as 'just any other temple.'

The VHP plans a dedicated campaign to propagate the idea of 'Ramatva,' aiming to unify the nation under the common thread of 'Hindutva.'

Additionally, the organisation intends to invite prominent figures with Akshat rice, a specially worshipped rice from Ayodhya, to the temple's inauguration.

The campaign will also encourage people to follow the rituals performed during the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya, fostering a connection between the historic moment and the collective consciousness of the nation.
