Insulin Row: Arvind Kejriwal's Plea For Daily Consultation With His Doctor In Presence Of Wife Sunita Rejected By Delhi Court

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea seeking a daily 15-minute video consultation with his doctor in the presence of his wife Sunita was rejected by the Rouse Avenue court on Monday (22 April).
The court of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja said that the Tihar jail authorities will provide all required medical treatment and for any special consultation requirement, a medical board can be referred.
This medical board will be formed by the AIIMS director and will constitute an endocrinologist and a diabetologist. This is in light of Kejriwal being a diabetes patient and currently on oral medicine.
The plea explaining Kejriwal's ‘Insulin Reversal Programme’ comes after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the BJP of not providing insulin to Kejriwal as part of a conspiracy to kill him.
The plea said that insulin was discontinued under medical supervision on 1 February with some dietary and medical interventions where Kejriwal was prescribed some exercises and oral medicine.
The plea demanded restoration of insulin administration as the Delhi CM in jail is unable to fulfill the requirements of the 'Insulin Reversal Programme,' Hindustan Times reported.
AAP's Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged yesterday that Kejriwal's sugar level is continuously increasing, but despite requests, he is neither being given insulin nor allowed to talk to the doctor.
However, the jail report claimed that as per the MLC report available from RML Hospital, Kejriwal was neither advised of any insulin nor any requirement of any insulin indicated.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 21 March in the Delhi liquor policy case where the agency has alleged AAP of using kickbacks from the policy in Goa elections.
