'Invitations For Ram Temple Consecration Only For Devotees,' Says Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Amid Row Over Uddhav Not Getting Invite

Acharya Satyendra Das, the Chief Priest of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, has responded to Uddhav Thackeray's statement claiming he hadn't received an invitation for the upcoming consecration ceremony.
In his clarification, Das emphasised that invitations were selectively extended to those who are devotees of Lord Ram, highlighting the non-political nature of the event.
"Invitations are exclusively for devotees of Lord Ram. It's incorrect to claim that BJP is using Lord Ram for political gains. Our PM is respected for his work, and this event is about devotion, not politics," stated Acharya Satyendra Das during an interview with news agency ANI and as reported by Deccan Herald.
This response follows Uddhav Thackeray's assertion that he doesn't need an invitation to visit Ayodhya, emphasising that Ram Lalla belongs to everyone.
While acknowledging not receiving a formal invitation, Thackeray reiterated his right to visit Ayodhya, citing previous visits to the holy city.
Earlier, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, overseeing the event, had extended invitations to various prominent personalities and political leaders.
The seven-day consecration ceremony, commencing on 16 January and concluding on 22 January, is set to witness the consecration of the deity of Ram Lala, marking a historic moment in the construction and consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
