Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday (10 July) announced that he would be home quarantined for five days starting today.

After five personnel at his office-cum-residence Krishna tested positive, he said he would be working form home as a precautionary measure. He would be conducting his meetings from home and assured that he was doing fine and there was no need for people to panic or assume otherwise.

The residence had been shut down last month for sanitisation for two days after an employee’s relative tested positive for Corona. All meetings were then shifted to the Vidhana Soudha.

This time, following protocol, the CM will stay in isolation and is said to have cancelled all his engagements for the day. An electrician, a standby driver and a pilot vehicle staffer at ‘Krishna’ have tested positive, as reported.

Urging the citizens to strictly follow the rules pertaining to prevention of the spread of the virus, he assured that the government was doing what was needed for the treatment of rising number of corona patients in the state.

In another announcement, Yediyurappa who had visited the Covid-19 care centre at the Bengaluru International Exhibition centre on Thursday said “this is the largest covid care centre for asymptomatic patients in the country with 10,000 beds. Whatever the covid affected persons require from standby ambulances, to round the clock doctors, as well ample options like books and newspapers to keep the people entertained during their term of stay at the centre will be available here”.
