Kejriwal Likely To Appear Before Delhi Court Today After Skipping Five ED Summonses In Excise Police Case

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is set to appear before the Rouse Avenue Court today (17 February).
The Rouse Avenue Court had summoned Kejriwal for 17 February after the AAP chief skipped multiple summonses issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case linked to the excise policy case.
The court noted that the AAP chief was "legally bound" to comply with the summons.

This came after ED moved the court, alleging that the Delhi chief minister intentionally did not want to obey the summons and kept on giving "lame excuses".
If a high-ranking public functionary like him disobeyed the law, it would "set a wrong example for the common man i.e. the Aam Aadmi," the agency said.
So far, the AAP chief skipped five summons and he and his party have repeatedly claimed that the summonses were illegal and the agency's only aim is to arrest him.
The ED has also sent the sixth summons to Kejriwal to appear before it for questioning on 19 February.
Meanwhile, three other AAP leaders -- Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Satyendar Jain -- may also appear before the Rouse Avenue court today.
While Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are likely to appear physically in the excise policy case, Satyendar Jain, accused in a disproportionate assets case, may appear virtually.
