Mahua Moitra Again Moves Delhi HC Against Order To Vacate Government Bungalow

Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra, who was expelled as Lok Sabha MP last month on grounds of unethical conduct, has yet again moved the Delhi High Court against Directorate of Estate's notice to vacate the government bungalow in the national capital.
The case has reportedly been listed before the bench of Justice Girish Kathpaliya of the Delhi High Court.
The DoE has asked Moitra to vacate the government bungalow because of her expulsion from the Lok Sabha last year. The house was allotted to her as a Member of Parliament and since she is no longer an MP, the department has asked her to vacate the house.
The notice by the Directorate of Estates, which manages government properties, states that if Moitra does not vacate the premises on her own, she and any other occupant "are liable to be evicted from the said premises, if need be, by the use of such force as may be necessary".
The DoE manages and maintains the Central government's official and residential properties.
Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha last month because the Ethics Committee found her guilty of misconduct.
She was accused of sharing her parliamentary website's login credentials with businessman Darshan Hiranandani in return for bribes.
Moitra had approached the high court earlier too. The court had then asked her to request the Directorate of Estates to let her stay in the bungalow for now.
The court had noted that rules permitted authorities to allow a resident to overstay for up to six months on payment of certain charges in exceptional circumstances, NDTV reported.
