NIA Raids Over 50 Locations In Kerala In PFI Conspiracy Case

The National Investigative Agency has been raiding various locations across Kerala said to be associated with various second rung leaders and key cadre of the now banned outfit Popular Front of India.
As reported by DD news, the raids have been carried out since 4am today (29 December).
As per The Hindu, the raids were conducted targeting alleged PFI operatives in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts of Kerala.
The raids are being said to have been conducted both to check the relaunch of the PFI and its activities under a new guise and to track the funding of the said terror activities in the guise of religious and charitable activates.
Earlier this year in September, the NIA along with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had conducted the anti-terror raids across more than 10 states. They had detained a few key SDPI and PFI activists, seized documents, literature, computers, laptops and phones as well.
In what the NIA described as the "largest ever" investigation process, more than 100 PFI activists including top leaders were taken into custody.
In connection with the same case, the NIA had made a submission to the NIA Special Court in Kochi last week saying many Kerala based leaders of the PFI were in touch with top leaders of the global terror organisations, ISIS and Al-Qaeda.
The NIA also said that the PFI had a secret and dedicated wing to compile data of leaders from other communities, which would later be used as a hit-list. The operations of this secret wing were done from the PFI office.
It had then told the court that it was in the final stages of investigation and a lot of evidence had been gathered regarding the PFI’s anti-national activities.
