Over 73 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and union territories (UTs) to be administered and more than 24 lakh jabs will be provided to them within the next three days, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday (30 June).
In a statement, the ministry said that the Centre has so far provided, both through the free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category, more than 32.13 crore (32,13,75,820) COVID-19 vaccine doses to states and UTs.
"Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 31,40,75,654 doses (as per data available at 8 am today)," the Health Ministry said.
More than 73 lakh (73,00,166) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered, it said.
Furthermore, more than 24,65,980 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the states and UTs within the next three days, the ministry added.
According to the ministry, under the 'Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination', implementation of which started from 1 May, every month 50 per cent of the total Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any manufacturer would be procured by the Centre and will be supplied free of cost to states and UTs.
