PM Modi Announces Rs 10,000 Crore Support To Bhutan In Next Five Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (22 March) announced Rs 10,000 crore support for Bhutan in the next five years.
PM Modi arrived in Paro today on a state visit to Bhutan from 22-23 March.
"To fulfil your goals, India stands with you for BB - Brand Bhutan and Bhutan Believe. I assure you that the upcoming five years will give a new energy to our relations. We will work to create avenues in the connectivity, infrastructure, trade and energy sectors," PM Modi said at a programme at Tashichho Dzong Palace in Bhutan.
"I want to announce that in the upcoming five years, the government of India will provide Rs 10,000 crore support to Bhutan," PM Modi said.
PM Modi was also honoured with Bhutan's highest civilian award - the 'Order of the Druk Gyalpo'.
"Today is a big day in my life as an Indian. You have honoured me with Bhutan's highest national award. This honour is not my personal achievement, it is the honour of India and 140 crore Indians," PM Modi said.
During the visit, several agreements of mutual interest to further strengthen the bilateral partnership were exchanged between India and Bhutan in the presence of PM Modi and Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay in Thimphu.
