Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State and MP from Gurgaon, announced on Tuesday (21 February) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the commencement of upgrades to the Gurgaon Railway Station on 26 February as per a report by The Indian Express.
The initial phase of this project is estimated to cost Rs 295 crore.
Singh emphasised that the Gurgaon Railway Station will be transformed into a world-class facility, featuring two entry points and various other innovative elements. Plans are also in place to provide direct access to the station for vehicles using the Daultabad Flyover.
Furthermore, Singh stated that efforts are being made to relocate the cement yard, which has been causing several challenges.
The upgraded station will boast amenities such as twelve lifts, a foot-over bridge, multi-level parking, a two-story food court, escalators, and solar panels.
In July, Singh met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Parliament House to discuss various projects in the region.
During this meeting, Singh informed Vaishnaw about the renovation plans for the railway station, and Vaishnaw assured him of his support.
