The Centre on Thursday (18 January) announced that all central government offices will be closed for half-day on 22 January on the occasion of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

The Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on 22 January across India.

To enable the employees to participate in the occasion, it has been decided that the Central Government offices, central institutions and central industrial establishments throughout India will be closed for half day that is till 2.30 pm on 22 January, the Department of Personnel and Training said in a notification on Thursday (18 January).

This comes as the week-long religious rituals for the Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony began on 16 January.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released commemorative postage stamps on the Ram Mandir and a book containing stamps issued on Lord Ram from around the world.

Modi called postal stamps a medium of conveying ideas, history and historical events to the next generation. "This ticket is neither just a piece of paper, nor just an artwork, it's a miniature form of big ideas," the PM said.

Modi highlighted that these tickets contain a grand image of Ram Mandir, emotions of Ram bhakti (devotion), surya (Sun), holy river Sarayu and the internal architectural beauty of the temple.
