In another setback to INDI Alliance, Bihar Chief Minister and JDU chief Nitish Kumar is likely to exit the Opposition bloc.

Further, Kumar is likely to partner with BJP-Led NDA again for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, NDTV reported citing sources.

This comes after two prominent INDI Alliance leaders, Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal, have ruled out any alliance with the Congress in Bengal and Punjab for the general elections.

According to reports, JDU leader K C Tyagi, a close associate of Kumar, left for Delhi on Thursday.

This comes as BJP state president Samrat Chaudhary has reportedly also been called to Delhi by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

At 72, Nitish Kumar has a history of changing political camps.

Since 2013, Nitish Kumar has oscillated between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), maintaining his position as chief minister of Bihar throughout these changes.

He switched sides last in 2022, nearly two years after he had walked out of the Grand Alliance and joined the NDA.

According to the NDTV report, recent developments have hinted at this possible realignment.

Kumar's comments on dynastic politics and the ensuing response from Lalu Yadav's daughter have indicated growing tensions.

Additionally, his non-response to the Congress's invitation to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has raised questions about his appearance.

Kumar was reportedly upset over the lack of clarity in INDI bloc's poll preparations and being passed over as a possible Prime Ministerial candidate.

The delay in finalizing seat-sharing arrangements for the Lok Sabha elections has also contributed to his discontent.
