The INDI Alliance in Maharashtra has finalised a seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

As per the deal, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest on 21 of the state's 48 Lok Sabha seats.

Meanwhile, Congress will contest on 17 and Sharad Pawar’s party will fight in 10 Maharashtra constituencies.

The Congress did not get either Sangli, Mumbai South Central or Bhiwandi seat in the seat-sharing pact, but was able to clinch the Mumbai-North seat.

It should be noted that the Congress and Sena had been at loggerheads after Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray went to Sangli and announced the candidature of Chandrahar Patil.

The Congress had immediately opposed the decision, arguing that Sangli had been the party’s traditional bastion and it had two MLAs in the constituency, while the Sena had none. It announced the name of Vishal Patil, the grandson of former chief minister Vasantdada Patil.

However, the party has now agreed to give the seat to the Uddhav-led Sena faction.

Under the seat-sharing arrangement, the seats from where Shiv Sena (UBT) will fight Lok Sabha elections are Jalgaon, Parbhani, Nashik, Palghar, Kalyan, Thane, Raigad, Maval, Osmanabad, Aurangabad, Ratnagiri, Buldhana, Hatkanangale, Shirdi, Sangli, Hingoli, Yavatmal-Washim, Mumbai North West, Mumbai South Central, Mumbai South, and Mumbai North East.

Congress will fight the polls from Nandurbar, Dhule, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Chandrapur, Nanded, Jalna, Pune, Latur, Solapur, Kolhapur, Ramtek, Mumbai North, and Mumbai North Central.

Meanwhile, the NCP will contest elections from Baramati, Shirur, Satara, Bhiwandi, Dindori, Madha, Raver, Wardha, Ahmednagar, and Beed.
