Congress leader Sonia Gandhi praised Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh for the Opposition's handling of the Manipur issue in Parliament.

This unexpected display of camaraderie between the two parties, who were not previously known for their friendship, is noteworthy.

Reportedly, members of the INDIA alliance have been staging a protest outside parliament, demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi address the issue in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Last night, they held a candle-light protest near the Gandhi statue.

Sanjay Singh shared a video of his interaction with Sonia Gandhi on Twitter. The rough translation of his Hindi caption stated that Sonia Gandhi, the former Congress President, expressed her support for the movement led by Team INDIA against the violence in Manipur.

Sanjay Singh, who has been suspended from the Rajya Sabha for the rest of the session due to his involvement in the Opposition protests on Manipur, has been at the forefront of the sit-in protest.

Despite heavy rainfall, Sanjay Singh continued the protest on its second day. He tweeted, "Heavy rain! Perhaps God is also crying over the condition of Manipur. The question remains: when will Modi ji speak in Parliament?"

MPs from AAP and other opposition parties joined him, many of whom were seen holding "INDIA for Manipur" placards. The restoration of Singh to the upper house is also one of the demands of the protesters.

According to sources, this is not the first time the northeastern state has experienced severe violence.

Currently, the situation in Manipur is under control, and there have been no deaths due to violence in the last 15 days.
