In the wake of the unveiling of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Indian gaming companies are witnessing a surge in demand for spiritual gaming content, reported The Economic Times.

With the increasing popularity of Mandir-focused apps, developers are tapping into this trend, aiming to gamify religion and spirituality.

One such app, the Shri Ram Mandir Game, launched by FunStop Games, has garnered significant attention, boasting five million downloads across app stores.

The app allows users to build their own virtual Ram Mandir.

Notably, even previously launched games like the Ram Mandir Darshan Game and the Shree Ram Temple app are experiencing a resurgence in downloads.

According to Utkarsh Shukla, founder of Yug Metaverse, there has been a notable increase in the creation of games inspired by Ayodhya, the Ram Mandir, and related themes.

These games offer diverse experiences, from building sacred structures to exploring virtual temples and participating in gurukul-style lectures on Hindu scriptures.

Moreover, FunStop Games has observed a spike in downloads, particularly from states like Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

Responding to this demand, the company plans to expand its offerings with new segments for spiritual games, catering to audiences beyond tier II cities.

However, industry experts emphasise the importance of addressing distribution and monetisation challenges to sustain the momentum in this space.
