Trouble Mounts For AAP: ED Raids Rajya Sabha MP N D Gupta, Kejriwal's Secretary In Delhi Jal Board-Linked Money Laundering Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids at approximately a dozen locations in Delhi linked to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP N D Gupta, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal secretary Bibhav Kumar, and former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) member Shalabh Kumar.
The raids are part of an ongoing money laundering investigation related to siphoning of funds from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
As per reports by Indian Express, the probe is reportedly linked to allegedly illegal DJB contracts valued at over Rs 30 crore.
These raids come on the heels of the ED filing a complaint against Kejriwal for non-compliance with repeated summons in the Delhi liquor policy case.
Earlier, Kejriwal was asked to appear before the ED for the fifth time on 2 February.
Responding to the development, Delhi BJP secretary Kapil Mishra characterized the situation as exposing corruption within the AAP, emphasizing the need for accountability.
He said, “The truth of the Kejriwal gang’s corruption is dirtier and smellier than the Najafgarh drain. The truth regarding loot and scams is coming to light in every department. Scams in medicine and water are shameful. Jail is the only place for corrupt people.”
The recent development follows where earlier, a day after Crime Branch officials had served notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, they had reached Atishi's house on Sunday (4 February).
The notice was in response to the allegations by AAP where, Atishi had alleged that BJP is is trying to poach seven of their Delhi MLAs.
However, the BJP denied these allegations and called them "false" and "baseless".
Followed by which, the Delhi Crime Branch took up the case and served notice to Kejriwal to provide evidence supporting the allegations made.
