Two New Pleas Filed In Courts To Protect Hindu Signs And Symbols In Gyanvapi Mosque Complex

Two new pleas have been submitted, one in the Varanasi district court and the other in Allahabad High Court, requesting the safeguarding of Hindu signs and symbols within the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi.
This development coincides with the verdict of the Allahabad HC regarding a plea against the Varanasi district court's directive to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct a survey to ascertain that the Gyanvapi mosque was constructed on a temple.
On Wednesday (2 August), Rakhi Singh, one of the petitioners in the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri case, lodged a plea in the Varanasi district court.
The plea accuses the Muslim party of vandalizing Hindu symbols and seeks protection for the complex.
The petition was filed in the court of District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishwesh.
The court has scheduled a hearing for 4 August, as stated by senior government counsel Rajesh Mishra.
A public interest litigation has been filed before the Allahabad HC as well, requesting the state government and district administration to seal the entire Gyanvapi mosque premises.
The purpose is to prevent any damage to Hindu signs or symbols that may be discovered during the ASI survey.
The petition also seeks to restrict non-Hindus from entering the "old temple area" within the complex until the pending suits on the Gyanvapi issue in the district court of Varanasi are resolved.
The petition has been filed by Jitender Singh "Bisen," Rakhi Singh, and a few others.
Bisen emphasized the immediate need to ban the entry of Muslims into Gyanvapi. This measure is necessary to allow the ASI to proceed smoothly without any hindrances.
Rakhi Singh is a founding member of Vishwa Vedic Sanatan Sangh.
The secretary of the Intezamia Masjid Committee, Mohammad Yasin, stated that they have not yet received a copy of the new petition. He mentioned that once they receive the copy of the petition, their legal team will prepare a reply.
Rakhi Singh is one of the five Hindu women plaintiffs who filed the Shringar Gauri-Gyanvapi case, seeking permission for worship at Maa Shringar Gauri Sthal.
